  About EPEE

The European Partnership for Energy and the Environment (EPEE) is a Brussels-based, pan-European trade association representing the refrigeration, air conditioning, and heat pumps (RACHP) sector. With 40 corporate and association members, EPEE is at the forefront of policy and advocacy efforts to support the transition to sustainable and energy-efficient solutions. Discover more at EPEEglobal.org.

  The Role

At a pivotal moment for the RACHP sector — with numerous policies and legislative developments shaping Europe’s energy future — EPEE is seeking a dynamic and creative Communications Officer to elevate our internal and external communications.

Reporting directly to the Director-General, you will lead the Communications Working Group (WG), collaborate with policy leads on key dossiers, and enhance EPEE’s profile as a solutions provider in the journey toward decarbonising Europe’s building stock and achieving the EU’s climate goals.

  Your Responsibilities

  • Please note that the list of responsibilities below is not exhaustive — new tasks will arise as the business requires, in order for EPEE to be as effective and impactful as possible.
  • Develop and implement a communications strategy in collaboration with the Secretariat Team and members, reviewed annually.
  • Oversee EPEE’s communication channels, including traditional media, social media, marketing, and branding.
  • Stay proactive and solutions-driven, anticipating communication needs to amplify EPEE’s message.
  • Build EPEE’s thought leadership and strengthen relationships with EU decision-makers and opinion leaders.
  • Manage the website, coordinate and edit newsletters, and ensure high-quality proofreading across all content.
  • Support events, webinars, working group meetings, AGMs, and symposiums alongside colleagues and the Operations Director.
  • Contribute to broader advocacy efforts and manage additional tasks critical to advancing EPEE’s mission.
  • Dedicate approximately 20–23% of your time to collaboration with the Manager of the Refrigerants Working Group on policy communications.

  Your Profile

  • Experience: 2–4 years of experience in a communications, content, or public affairs role within the EU-Brussels landscape.
  • Skills: Native-level English proficiency (additional EU languages are a strong asset); excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Knowledge: A genuine interest in energy, environment, and EU policy; ability to simplify complex topics for diverse audiences.
  • Attributes: A collaborative, proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Eligibility: EU citizenship or a valid Belgian work authorisation.

  What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation package (€2,800–€3,100 gross/month) with opportunities for professional growth.
  • Full-time position based in Brussels, with flexible hybrid working arrangements.
  • Direct collaboration with industry members and stakeholders at the forefront of the sustainable energy transition.
  • A dynamic environment that values creativity, initiative, and innovation in communication and advocacy.
  • Continuous learning through engagement with EU institutions, partners, and cross-sector initiatives.
  • The chance to make a real impact on EPEE’s visibility and positioning in the European policy landscape.
