Energy efficient products and proper labelling deliver tangible energy and savings costs for European consumers, and play a key role in helping Europe achieve its climate goals. The European Commission developed a sustainable product initiative in the form of the Ecodesign Directive and Energy Labelling Regulation to help achieve its Green Deal objective of being climate neutral by 2050.

EPEE fully supports the objectives of the Ecodesign and Energy Labelling frameworks, which ensure that the most energy efficient products are placed on the market. The EU has already adopted several such regulations for air-conditioners, professional refrigeration, fans, or motors, and other products.

To ensure that the Ecodesign and Energy Labelling framework remain powerful tools, we strongly support robust market surveillance. EPEE supports EU projects on market surveillance for Ecodesign, such as the EEPLIANT3 and ANTICSS.
