EPEE and VDKF to work more closely together in future
The European association EPEE (European Partnership for Energy and the Environment, https://epeeglobal.org) represents the refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump industry in Europe; and VDKF (www.vdkf.de), the trade association for refrigeration and air conditioning specialists in Germany. The two associations intend to work more closely together in the future. A mutual membership was agreed at the ISH trade fair in Frankfurt in March 2025.
The F-gas Regulation, the PFAS Restriction Proposal, Ecodesign, etc. – there are many topics that affect EPEE and VDKF members equally and are therefore the focus of both organisations’ work. Establishing a mutual membership is therefore a logical and expedient way of pooling strengths and expertise and benefiting from each other’s contacts.
“Many of the regulations that affect the work of refrigeration and air conditioning specialists in Germany are pan-European requirements. Thanks to the cooperation with EPEE, whose representatives have excellent networks in Brussels, we will be even better informed and able to prepare our members for changes in good time”, explains VDKF Managing Director Marcel Rehder.
“I am delighted that we will be expanding and intensifying our existing collaboration. The importance of refrigeration and air conditioning technology is often overlooked by politicians, ministries and the media. Only together can we make our industry heard at national and European level”, says VDKF President Karl-Heinz Thielmann. Christoph Brauneis will take over the committee work for the VDKF at EPEE.
